Safety affects everything – how you speak, decide & protect yourself.

We teach people how to recognise unsafe dynamics and restore safety in real-life situations.

Practical safety training for workplaces, schools, and real-world situations

Feeling safe changes how people think, speak, and act.

When people feel unsafe, fear changes how they respond. They hesitate, speak less, comply, pull back, or avoid situations instead of engaging.

In workplaces, this affects whether employees raise concerns, challenge decisions, and take responsibility. In schools, it determines how learners handle conflict, bullying, and peer pressure. In everyday situations, it influences whether people recognise risk early and know how to respond when something feels wrong.

FLAG Academy provides practical safety training across leadership and psychological safety, self-defense, anti-bullying, and gender-based violence prevention in-person throughout South Africa and online globally.

Our work helps people understand what happens under pressure, how safety breaks down, and how to restore the conditions that allow clearer thinking, stronger boundaries, and more effective action.

We work with leaders, teams, students, educators, and individuals. The same human responses show up at work, at school, and in real-world encounters.

Our approach is practical, grounded, and focused on real behaviour.

When people feel safer, they communicate more clearly, make better decisions, and engage more fully.

High-Performance Leadership Training

Most leadership training teaches skills like communication, accountability, and feedback. Those skills matter, but they often break down under pressure.

When people don’t feel safe, they don’t use what they’ve been taught. They hold back, comply, and avoid conflict. Important information never surfaces.

Our High-Performance Leadership Training focuses on the missing layer: the physical, emotional, and psychological conditions that determine whether leadership skills actually show up when it matters.

We help leaders recognise where safety has eroded and adjust the conditions shaping behaviour in meetings, decisions, and everyday interactions.

The result is clearer communication, shared accountability, and better decisions under pressure.

Become Bully-Proof™ Anti-Bullying Workshops

Bullying affects how children learn, behave, and relate to others.

Learners who are bullied often become withdrawn, reactive, or silent. Teachers spend time managing repeated conflict instead of teaching. Parents feel frustrated and unsure how to help.

Our anti-bullying workshops give students and educators clear tools to recognise bullying early, interrupt harmful dynamics, and respond consistently.

This work focuses on boundaries, power, and safety. Schools reduce repeat incidents and create a shared approach that students and staff understand.

Self-Defense & Personal Safety Training

Most unsafe situations don’t begin with violence. They begin with hesitation, unclear boundaries, and uncertainty about what to do next.

Our self-defense & personal safety training teaches people how to notice early warning signs, manage fear responses, and respond in ways that keep them safer. Physical techniques are taught after awareness, judgement, and decision-making are in place.

We offer self-defense & personal safety training for companies, schools, and private groups. The focus is on prevention, confidence, and practical safety skills that apply in real life.

Gender-Based Violence Prevention & Safety Training

Gender-based violence doesn’t start with physical harm. It starts with control, boundary violations, fear, and silence.

Our GBV-focused program helps organisations and communities understand how violence escalates, how warning signs are missed, and how people can intervene earlier.

Through our Be Your Own Hero programme, we provide practical, trauma-informed safety training that focuses on awareness, boundaries, and personal agency.

This work supports year-round prevention, employee well-being, and meaningful engagement beyond awareness days.

Testimonials & Featured Clients

After completing FLAG’s Psychological Safety training, I’ve seen a clear improvement in workforce efficiency and team cohesion. We’ve built a culture that values authenticity, inclusive thinking, and diversity of thought and I’m already seeing positive results.

I attended a class on psychological workplace safety targeted to first responders as we were in a group of volunteer first responders that can often be faced with stress and trauma from the scenes we deal with. The course taught us valuable skills in dealing with stress on scene and processing the trauma that might set in once everything is done. I have managed to take a lot from what I learnt and applied it to my day-to-day life to reduce stress in and outside of the first responder duties I face. I will always be thankful for this Ann and Christine I believe everyone should do your courses regarding psychological workplace safety.

We recently hosted an Empowerment Day for 110 ladies for the Star Retailers Group, and Fight Like a Girl added an incredible element to our day. Their demo was not only empowering but left our guests inspired and energized. The team delivered a professional, engaging, and highly impactful experience. The feedback from our attendees was overwhelmingly positive, and we couldn't have asked for a better partner. Highly recommend Fight Like a Girl for any event looking to empower and inspire! Thank you to Ann and Christine for making our day extra special!

Our Company arranged a virtual workshop with Ann and Christine from Fight like a Girl on the 8th of August 2024 for Women’s day. The two instructors are very passionate about what they do, and their insights and advice were excellent. We had great fun and learnt some useful techniques on the following topics: Situation Awareness, Body Language, Everyday Défense, De-Escalation Techniques, What attackers look for, Commuter Safety, Fight or Flight and gave a few Demonstrations that we thought was extremely helpful. Learning self-defence techniques can give you confidence and power – the power to be in control during a life-threatening situation. We recommend all women to attend a class or workshop with these two ladies.

I attended a self-defense seminar presented by Fight-like-a-Girl. Ann and Christine were truly amazing in their approach. The session was empowering but, more importantly, inspirational. I would recommend this to anyone, but definitely to those women who need to rebuild confidence and selfbelief.

Bullies, abusers, and toxic leaders all thrive on one thing – power over others.
