Personal Coaching
A 12-week one-on-one coaching program for people to want to stop letting their reactions make the decisions for them.
Here is why personal coaching might be right for you
You might be good at your job and still get completely thrown by criticism. You know you need a "thicker skin", you just do not know how to actually build one.
Or every time you make a small mistake, you let it spiral into thoughts of getting everything wrong and not being good enough.
Maybe you are a man who copes by not dealing with things. You push through, stay busy, keep functioning. Nobody around you would guess anything is wrong. But you know what you are carrying, and you are starting to wonder how much longer you can keep carrying it without something giving.
Or perhaps you're constantly dealing with a low-level worry about yourself or your family's safety that never fully switches off, even when there is no actual reason to be worried right now. You're never fully present because you're always thinking of everything that could go wrong.
These are all different situations, but the same thing triggers each one. Usually it is a survival response that once served you and has now overstayed its welcome. Instead of protecting you, it is causing you harm.
A 12-week one-on-one program
Ann's background is in how people behave when they feel threatened, physically, socially and professionally. The response that stops someone from speaking up in a difficult meeting is the same one that keeps a person awake at night worrying about their family's safety. It is the same wiring in a different situation.
The work is focused on behaviour. What you do when the pressure goes up, what you avoid, where you shut down, what gets harder than it should be. The program works with those specific responses over twelve weeks, building progressively so you start to see the changes happening in your day-to-day life.
How the twelve weeks are structured
There are three phases with each one building on the previous. The work gets more demanding as you get more capable of handling it.
PHASE ONE: Stabilisation
First we get clear on exactly what is happening and how it's affecting you. We look at what your responses are, when they show up and what they are actually costing you, in your work, in your relationships and in how you feel day to day.
We also look at where the response came from. Most of these reactions started out as survival responses that were useful and protected you at some point. Somewhere along the way they stopped helping and started holding you back or causing harm instead, but the pattern kept running anyway because nothing told it to stop.
By the end of this phase you know exactly what you're dealing with and what needs to change.
PHASE TWO: Building range & voice
Once we are clear on why you respond the way you do, we start working on different responses. You begin responding differently in the situations that have been difficult, starting with lower-stakes versions and building from there.
You speak up where you used to go quiet. You can take criticism without needing days to recover from it. You stay present in situations where you used to shut down or spiral.
It will feel uncomfortable at first. You are asking your body to do something it has avoided for a long time. We work through that in small enough steps that you can actually keep doing them, rather than trying to change everything at once.
PHASE THREE: Ownership
By now the old reaction is no longer making decisions for you. You have tools, language and enough practice that the new response is becoming your default.
This phase is about taking it into the situations that used to be the hardest. The ones you avoided through Phase One and were still a bit shaky on in Phase Two. You go into them properly now, and you come out the other side knowing you handled it, not just hoping you did.
We also spend time on what happens next, after the twelve weeks end. You start trusting your own read of a situation without needing someone to check it with first. You know what you will do the next time the old pattern tries to show up, because you have already done it differently more than once. That is what makes it hold without me in the room.
Who this coaching is for
This program works for anyone who is ready to do practical work on a response that has been getting in their way, whatever situation brought you here. What matters is that you are ready to actually do the work, not just think about it.
The commitment is real. One session a week, structured work between sessions, and twelve weeks of building a different response in real situations.
HOW IT WORKS
Sessions: One 60-minute intake session followed by eleven 30-minute weekly sessions.
Location: Virtual
Support: Weekday WhatsApp support with Ann is included throughout the twelve weeks.
Frequently Asked questions
How is this different from therapy?
Therapy works with where a response comes from. This program works with how the response operates now: what it looks like in specific situations, what it costs you, and what you do differently when it shifts. The focus is forward and practical. If Ann's assessment is that therapeutic support would serve you better at this point, she will tell you that directly.
How is this different from life coaching?
The foundation of this program is Ann's work in human safety and human behaviour under pressure. The responses being addressed are the same ones she works with across her training: fear, avoidance, shutdown, hypervigilance. The coaching approach is grounded in that specific expertise rather than general goal-setting or accountability work.
Is this only for people with professional challenges?
No. The program works with the response itself, which shows up across all areas of life: at work, in relationships, in how safe or present a person feels day to day. Many clients bring situations from more than one area. The responses usually connect.
What does the application process involve?
Book a no-obligation call and tell Ann what you are dealing with and what you want to change. She will advise whether the program is right for your situation. Not every application proceeds.
What happens between sessions?
Between-session work is built into the program from the start. Sessions create the framework. The between-session work is where you apply it in real situations. Weekday WhatsApp support with Ann is included throughout the twelve weeks.
Is this available to organisations as well as individuals?
Organisations sometimes fund this for leaders or staff in specific roles. If you are an HR director or People and Culture lead considering this for someone in your team, get in touch to discuss what that would look like.
How many places are available?
Ann takes a limited number of coaching clients at any one time. If places are currently full, she will let you know and discuss options.
Twelve weeks from now, the situation that currently derails you is still the same situation.
What changes is how you respond to it.
